Quick start
Send the basics — we will ask for the rest
If you would rather not fill in every field, send the essentials and one photograph of the reel tag. The review will follow up on the specification detail.
We buy surplus electrical wire and cable from businesses and individuals across Virginia — contractors with job overage, distributors with discontinued stock, plants with maintenance surplus, and facilities clearing out a store room. Every lot is reviewed on its own specifications, condition and paperwork, and the answer is a written set of terms for that specific material.
What we review
Commercial quantities of unused, excess, overstock, leftover, discontinued or recoverable wire and cable held in Virginia. That includes building wire, industrial cable, service and feeder cable, control and instrumentation cable, portable and specialty cable, and medium or high-voltage cable — on full reels, partial reels, spools, coils, in cartons, or as a documented mixed lot.
Wire categories

Copper wire
Building wire, feeder, grounding and control cable in copper.

Aluminum cable
SER, URD, large feeder and aluminum building wire.

Large feeder
250 to 1,000 MCM single conductor and matched sets.

Medium and high voltage
5 kV to 35 kV and above, with the records to support it.

Full and partial reels
Sealed put-ups, opened reels, spools, coils and cartons.

Industrial and tray cable
Tray, control, VFD and instrumentation cable from plants.
Five families worth a closer look
Copper building and feeder wire
THHN, THWN-2, XHHW-2, bare grounding and copper SER. The reel tag and the jacket print decide the review long before weight does.
Aluminum cable
Aluminum SER, URD, USE-2 and large feeder. Alloy and insulation rating matter, and stored water at the cut end is the usual defect.
Large feeder cable
250, 350, 500, 750 and 1,000 kcmil, including matched parallel sets bought for one service or one data hall.
Medium and high-voltage cable
5 kV to 35 kV with EPR or XLPE insulation, copper tape shield or concentric neutral, and above that only with documentation.
Full and partial reels
Eleven sealed reels and forty partials is a normal lot. The way you separate them is what makes it reviewable.

How it works
You send the details and photographs
City or ZIP, cable types, sizes, approximate footage, reel count, condition and loading access, with photos of the reel tags, jacket printing and the material itself.
We review the inventory
The lot is assessed on construction, identification, condition and quantity. Mixed or unknown material can be submitted; acceptance is not assumed.
We agree written terms if the lot is accepted
Price, payment timing, freight, loading and pickup responsibility are confirmed in writing for that transaction. Nothing is agreed verbally.

Questions sellers ask
Questions about this material
Who buys surplus electrical wire in Virginia?
This service reviews surplus, unused, overstock and leftover electrical wire and cable held in Virginia. It is a wire and cable buyer, not a general surplus dealer or a scrap yard: transformers, switchgear, breakers, generators and machinery are outside scope.
Where can I sell surplus electrical wire in Virginia?
You can submit a lot from anywhere in the state through the form on this page. The review does not require a local branch: it requires the city or ZIP, the cable details and photographs, and a description of how the material would be loaded.
Do you buy partial wire reels?
Yes. Partial reels are the majority of real-world surplus. The review asks for the original factory footage where known and an honest estimate of what remains — an unknown length is acceptable, an invented one is not.
Can I submit mixed or unidentified cable?
Yes, and it will be reviewed as unidentified material. Photographs of any print, the conductor size, the conductor count and the reel tag all help, but acceptance is not promised for material whose construction cannot be established.
Do you promise a price before seeing the material?
No. A lot is reviewed on its specifications, condition and documentation, and any price is part of written terms for that specific lot. We do not quote top-dollar figures or same-day offers on an unseen reel.
What areas of Virginia do you cover?
The whole state, including Northern Virginia, Richmond and Central Virginia, Hampton Roads and Tidewater, the Shenandoah Valley, Southwest Virginia and Southside.
Quote request

Describe the lot as it actually sits. Photos of the reel tag and jacket print do more than any description, and mixed or unidentified cable can still be submitted for review.
