Sixteen questions that cover most of what sellers ask before submitting a lot. Where an answer is short, it is because the honest answer is short.
Who buys surplus electrical wire in Virginia?
This service does. It reviews unused, overstock, leftover and recoverable electrical wire and cable held anywhere in Virginia, and it buys wire and cable only — not switchgear, transformers, breakers, generators or machinery.
Where can I sell surplus electrical wire in Virginia?
Submit a lot through the quote form from anywhere in the state. The review needs the city or ZIP, the cable details, photographs and loading information; it does not depend on a local branch, because there is no branch network.
Do you buy partial reels and opened spools?
Yes. Partial reels are the majority of real surplus. State the original factory footage where you know it and an honest estimate of what remains. Unknown is acceptable; invented is not.
Is there a minimum quantity?
There is no published minimum, but small lots are best grouped with other material from the same site. One 40 ft offcut is not worth a review; thirty of them may be.
Can I sell wire that came out of service?
Yes, as used material, when it has been legally released by the owner and you are authorised to sell it. It is reviewed as removed cable from the first sentence, not as new stock.
What cable types do you not buy?
Transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, scrap machinery and unrelated industrial equipment are outside scope. Within wire, unidentified material and damaged cable may be reviewed as recoverable rather than reusable.
Do you buy copper and aluminum wire by weight?
Weight is a cross-check, not the basis of a review. Construction, size, footage and condition decide what a lot is. A ton of tagged factory reels and a ton of mixed partials are different material.
How do I know what my cable is?
Read the reel tag and the jacket print. The guide on this site explains the abbreviations, the size ranges and the photographs that make identification quick.
Do you charge for a review?
No fee is charged for submitting a lot or for the initial review. Any freight, loading or transport arrangement is part of the written terms for a specific transaction, never a review charge.
How is the price decided?
It is based on the identified construction, size, footage, condition, quantity and the logistics of moving it. The result is written terms for that lot. There is no published price list because two reels of the same size are rarely the same asset.
Who pays for freight and loading?
That is agreed per transaction and stated in writing. It is never assumed and never described as free unless it is genuinely included in the terms for that lot.
Do you guarantee pickup?
No. Pickup is arranged for accepted lots under the written terms, subject to access, equipment and scheduling. A submission does not create a pickup obligation.
What if I do not know the footage?
Say so and photograph the reel showing the wire level against the flange. The review will treat it conservatively; it will not treat it as zero.
Do you buy from individuals, or only businesses?
Both, where the material is genuinely owned by the seller and can be described. The same questions apply to a single reel as to a warehouse.
What happens to my photographs?
They are used to review the lot and, if it proceeds, to agree terms. The privacy policy explains the third-party form processor used to deliver submissions and how to ask for removal.
Is any city on this site a local office?
No. Cities and regions describe where material is held and how it moves. There is no Virginia branch, yard or crew implied by any listing.

Sell your surplus wire — request a quote
Describe the lot as it actually sits. Photos of the reel tag and jacket print do more than any description, and mixed or unidentified cable can still be submitted for review.
