Electrical Wire Buyers WIRE // VIRGINIA

Wire we buy / Distributor overstock

Electrical distributor overstock buyers in Virginia

A distributor's problem is not one bad reel, it is 340 SKUs of wire that no longer earn their rack space. The review works SKU by SKU, not as a single lump.

Distributors, wholesalers and manufacturer representatives hold surplus wire for predictable reasons: discontinued lines, cancelled customer orders, slow-moving colours, over-bought promotions and consolidation of two branches into one. We review those inventories in Virginia, wire and cable only.

What a good submission contains

  • An inventory export or a photographed picking list, one line per SKU.
  • Size, construction, colour, manufacturer, put-up and quantity on hand.
  • Tag or label status for each line, and whether it is sealed.
  • Age or receipt date where the system has it.
  • Location and racking constraints, plus how a truck would load.

Why we ask for SKU lines instead of a total

Because a total is meaningless. "12,000 lb of wire" could be premium 500 kcmil feeder or a pallet of discontinued lamp cord. The SKU view lets the review find the lines worth pursuing and set aside the ones that are not, which is faster for both sides and avoids an all-or-nothing negotiation that usually fails.

Discontinued and slow-moving stock

A discontinued colour or an obsolete jacket type still has a market if the construction is standard. What usually kills a line is missing labels and mixed reels on one pallet. Where the system has the original receipt, include it — a printout turns an orphan reel into a documented one.

  • Bin stock Boxed lengths and small spools count if labelled.
  • Rack stock Photograph the rack face, then the tags.
  • Yard stock Note weather exposure and water in the reels.
  • Returns Customer returns need their condition stated.

Send the list, not the whole warehouse

Start with the lines you actually want gone. A partial review of 40 SKUs produces a faster answer than a request to buy everything on the yard, and it lets the two sides test the process before committing to a larger clean-out.

Questions sellers ask

Questions about this material

Do you buy an entire branch's wire inventory?

Larger clean-outs are reviewed in stages rather than as a single take-it-or-leave-it lot. Start with the lines you want gone and the review will indicate which ones it can pursue.

What about customer returns and opened reels?

They are reviewed when the condition is stated. Returns with unknown history are treated conservatively, and unidentified reels are not assumed to be new.

Can an inventory spreadsheet be sent instead of photos?

Yes, a PDF or spreadsheet export is the most efficient way to submit distributor stock. Add photographs of a few representative racks so the condition is visible as well as the quantity.

Describe the lot as it actually sits. Photos of the reel tag and jacket print do more than any description, and mixed or unidentified cable can still be submitted for review.
